Go wild in the Western Cape on an overnight safari trip from Cape Town! Travel off the beaten track to interact with wildlife and with an expert game ranger at your side, set out on two 4x4 game drives at two different malaria-free game reserves in search for most of Africa’s Big Five and other wildlife. Get close to Mother Nature with an included bush walking safari, following a game ranger as he tracks wildlife and teaches you about the medicinal values of indigenous plants. This is fast paced tour and travel to many locations daily to reach the included highlights. Travel distance about 900km with an avarange ranging from 450km per day (excluding game drives time and distance) This is a small group tour with no more than 13 people per vehicle and tour guide. More than 1 vehicle might be travelling on the same tour. Subject to availability, this itinerary can run in a different or reverse order. This scheduled group tour requires a minimum number of travellers to operate. This tour is not suitable for children younger than 10 years of age. The bush drive vehicles used are an especially adopted open-roof converted jeep or truck. Subject to the group size of the day at the reserve. You'll join other groups on the safari drives. As per usual, wildlife is unpredictable and animal sightings can't be guaranteed - but that makes safari experiences even more exciting as you'll never know what you'll find around the next bend. Leopards are nocturnal and rarely seen on Western Cape region game drives. They roam freely high up in the mountainous regions and cannot be contained in with fences.

Itinerary
Day 1: Oudtshoorn in the semi-desert Klein Karoo

Morning pick-up between 06:00 and 08:00am anywhere within 10km from Cape Town City Centre. Travel distance about 450km - excluding game drives. Enjoy a game drive and spot some of Africa’s wild animals from the back of an open 4x4 vehicle in a malaria-free private game reserve. Search for giraffe, white rhino, kudu, lion, elephant, zebra and wildebeest, to name a few. The game drive is led by an experienced game ranger, sharing his knowledge of the local wildlife as well as other antelope species, birdlife and insects. Explore the Garden Route's fauna and flora on foot with a tranquil bush walk. Follow a ranger as he tracks wildlife and teaches you some of the medicinal values of indigenous plants. Journey through the landscape of rugged plains and towering cliffs to reach Oudtshoorn in the semi-desert Klein Karoo. Overnight in Oudtshoorn (as per your price option selection) at either Uthundo Backpackers, 3-star Comfort Yamkela or 88Baron Guesthouse or 4-star Deluxe Buffelsdrift Luxury Lodge or similar

Day 2: Buffelsdrift, Route 62 

Travel distance about 450km - excluding game drives. Hop on an open-top 4x4 game drive viewing vehicle for a guided Klein Karoo Bush Safari in search of wildlife such as; buffalo, giraffe, rhino, springbok, wildebeest and more, with the dramatic Swartberg Mountains as the backdrop. Get up early for an optional Elephant Bush Walk Experience. Walk alongside 3 rescued elephants in a natural setting to learn more about these gentle giants. Travel back via the scenic Route 62 – South Africa's famous scenic country road, capturing the beauty of mountains, twisting passes, vineyards and orchards to reach Cape Town by late evening. > Please do not make any scheduled arrangements (especially flights) for the first or last day of the tour, as traffic and weather can delay the approximate pick-up and drop-off times on group tours
