Itinerary
DAY 1 - addis abeba full day city tour

Visit Addis Abeba will begin with seeing the orthodox cathedral of the Holy Trinity. It is the most important church in Ethiopia. In this church, there is a mausoleum of the last emperor of Ethiopia - Haile Selasje. his wife is also buried there. Then, we will see the National Museum, that is said to be one of the most important museums in whole Sub-Saharian Africa. 3,2 million-years old bones of our grand grand .... ancestor - Lucy, are one of the most famous exhibit of their collection. The attention of visitors is drawn by a rich collection of insignia of emperor and churches, costumes and weapons. The oldest exhibits are rock sculptures and inscriptions from the times of Queen Saba, found near Aksum and in today's Eritrea. 

The ethnographic museum, that is a next stop on our trip in Addis Abeba, is located in the University. It was found and managed by Polish scientists, professor Stanisław Chojnacki. Probably the most interesting part of the exhibition is a collection of crosses and icons. The museum should be visited by amateurs of folklore instruments, since the collection of them gathered in the museum is impressive . lunch break will take place in the restaurant serving Ethiopian dishes and local beer. e.g in "Ambassador" with a large garden . The final attraction of the day in Addis Abeba will be a trip through Merkato, which is believed to be the biggest marketplace in Africa.

climb the Entoto hill located 3200 m above the sea. Here located was the capital city of Ethiopia, before Menelik II moved it to Addis Abeba. The king's palace remained until today. The local museum exhibits crowns belonging to kings and church, costumes and insignia. 

DAY 2-drive outside of Addis Ababa to the site of a 13th century monastery, Debre Libanos

After an early breakfast, drive outside of Addis Ababa to the site of a 13th century monastery, Debre Libanos, built by the Ethiopian saint, Abune Teklehaimanot. Although the original church was destroyed by Mussolini's forces, it is still a important pilgrimage site for the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. As an added bonus, packs of the the endemic Gelada Baboon are often seen nearby. A nearby overlook provides outstanding views of the famous Blue Nile Gorge, which is on par with Arizona’s Grand Canyon. Enjoy a picnic lunch while enjoying the sights and songs of many of the native birds. Return to Addis through one of the famous teff growing regions of Ethiopia. DAY 3- Addis Ababa to the town of Debre Zeit

This is our shortest day tour from Addis Ababa. With this one day pleasure trip, drive 45 km east of Addis Ababa to the town of Debre Zeit (written as “ ” in Amharic and also known as Bishoftu).

Take one hour drive on Ethiopia’s only toll-road (Addis Ababa-Adama Expressway) from Addis Ababa to Bishoftu is known for its beautiful crater (volcanic) lakes.

At Bishoftu, take a relaxed walking tour to enjoy bird watching, water sports, or swimming. Admire the scenery of Lake Bishoftu, Lake Babogaya, and Lake Kuriftu.

At Debre Zeit, stop for lunch at a famous Indian Restaurant (7 LAKES Indian Restaurant). Then, visit Lemma Guya Art Gallery which is famous for its collection of paintings on goat skins. Then drive back to Addis Ababa.
