Overview

Nyungwe is the largest montane forest in Central Africa with 13 species of primate; these include chimpanzee and large groups of Rwenzori colobus. Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park is on steep slippery hillsides and viewing is unpredictable. Around 300 bird species, orchids and butterflies are other attractions. Nyungwe’s biodiversity is astonishnyungwe chimps touring by African standards and is one of the most endemic species-rich areas in whole of Africa.

Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe forest national park

Depart from Kigali; en-route visit some historical sites on the main road like Kamegeri’s rock and have a stop at Nyanza King's Palace. Drive to Nyungwe and spend a night at your accommodation. Lodge: Emeraude Kivu Resort Travel time: 4 hrs Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy walk in Nyungwe forest

Breakfast and after head to the Nyungwe forest national park offices for the briefing about the primates and the park, thereafter enter into the tropical rain forest looking for the shy primates in the mist. This walk is not only searching the chimpanzees but also there is a chance of spotting other primates like the white and black Columbus, Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys and the manageably. Return to lodge for lunch, and after in the evening take the canopy walk to spot the other primates and birds at the closer view. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: A visit to Gisakura/Kitabi Tea Factory

Early morning on the way to Huye, you will have time to visit the Tea factory before departing for Huye Ethnographic Museum. With this experience, you will have a deep understanding of how tea is produced. We will 2 hours tours at the factory and depart back to Kigali. On the road, you will stop at Huye Ethographic museum. At the end of the tour, you will drive back to Kigali, then the airport and depart back home. Meal plan: Breakfast,
