Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories in Canada, it was founded in 1934. The city has its origins in gold mining. Also it is known for being one of the best places in the world to view the aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. With long and clear winter nights you can enjoy a good viewing. Every night, you will seek for the aurora borealis and enjoy an easy ride back to your hotel.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Yellowknife

Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name. Pick up at the airport is included from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm. The guide will transfer you to your hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, banks and shops. You will have an informative meeting. You will also have time to try on winter clothes (optional in case of rental), to go shopping, and have dinner on your own.

Note: If you can't identify your guide upon arrival at the airport, please approach the information booth (inside the airport), where you can dial #27 to contact a tour representative that will help arrange your transfer.

Timings in the itinerary are approximate and may change in destination.

Day 2: Aurora hunting

You will have the day free today. As an option you can take a day tour to go dog sledding or on a snow mobil tour; you can review all the options on the "Extras" section.

At 10 pm you will go out to see auroras. The guide will drive until he/she finds an ideal spot in the middle of nature. You will return to the hotel around 2:00 am.

Accommodation: Super 8 Hotel or similar, double room. Meals: Not included

Day 3: Aurora hunting

You will have the day free today. As an option you can take a day tour to go dog sledding or on a snow mobil tour; you can review all the options on the "Extras" section.

At 10 pm you will go out to see auroras. The guide will drive until he/she finds an ideal spot in the middle of nature. You will return to the hotel around 2:00 am.

Day 4: Aurora hunting in Teepee camp or cabin

You will have the day free today. As an option you can take a day tour to go dog sledding or on a snow mobil tour; you can review all the options on the "Extras" section.

At 10 pm you depart to see the magical auroras. This time you will spend the night in a cozy cabin or tee pee. You will return to the accommodation around 2:00 am.

Accommodation: Cozy cabin or tee pee or similar, double occupancy. Meals: Not included

Day 5: Departure from Yellowknife

It's time to return home. Feel free to choose and share with the guides the time you need to be at the airport. A tour representative will pick you up between 10:00 am and 7:30 pm at your hotel, he/she will drive you to the airport.
