The hundreds years old Choro Trail is the the most known of the "Yunga Trails". On this 3-day trek you will take on an adventure that will allow you to see the many contrast of this small but rich country, linking the high Andes with the warm, subtropical lands, through eternal ice, forests and tropical vegetation.

Itinerary
Day 1: La Paz - Challapampa, Bolivia

La Paz - La Cumbre - Challapampa (L/D) After an early pick-up from your accommodation, you will be transferred to La Cumbre, the starting point of the trek. After an hour hike you will reach the high pass of Abra Chucura at a dizzying 4,859 metres above sea level. From here you will begin your downhill descent following a Pre-Inca road for part of the day into the village of Challapampa, where you will make camp for the night. (1 hour drive, 5-6 hours walking)Begin today with an early morning transfer to La Cumbre and trek to Abra Chucura at 4,859m. Descend to Challapampa along a pre-Inca road.

Day 2: Challapampa - Sandillani, Bolivia

Challapampa – Sandillani (B/L/D) After breakfast you will continue the descent by trekking along a scenic trail with a dynamic landscape that begins changing from the dry arid land to a sub-tropical environment. After a 2-hour hike you will cross the Rio Chucura, and the Rio Jucumarini. The trail continues through several hamlets such as Buena Vista before stopping to make camp at Sandillani. (7-8 hours walking)Trek down into the sub-tropical jungle, crossing the Rio Chucura and Rio Jucumarini to reach Sandillani for camp.

Day 3: Sandillani - La Paz, Bolivia

Sandillani – Chairo – Coroico – La Paz (B/L) Today you will follow the pre-Inca paving from Sandillani to Chairo, where the trek will come to an end. Here you will meet your transfer that will take you to Coroico. Choose to stay in Coroico or continue on the transport back to La Paz. (2-3 hours walking, 3 hours drive)Today's trek takes you to Chairo where your trek ends, then take a return transfer to Coroico (optional drop-off here) to finally reach La Paz.
