Day 1 Easter Island, Arrival - Transfer to hotel

On Arrival to Easter Island Airport, reception at the Airport with flower necklace and transfer to your hotel.  Afternoon is at leisure.

We recommend you to walk around Hanga Roa downtown, maybe have lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, go to Tahai, just along the coast from Hanga Roa, is possibly the best place to watch the sunset. The set of three ahus is located in a peaceful waterfront meadow where you can watch the sunset behind the statues. It is popular with local and tourists alike and nice to see people having a picnic or  just enjoying being together. A great spot just being 25 mins walk from your hotel its perfect to do on the first day after flight into island if you are feeling exhausted but still want to get your first glimpse of the Moai.

Day 2 Full Day Tour Easter Island

Schedule: 09:00 - 17:30 hrs, Monday to Sunday, subject to availability and season.

Low difficulty, suitable for the whole family.

Discover the most famous sites of Easter Island in the tour "The Arrival of Hotu Matu'a": Rano Raraku, Tongariki, Anakena, Te Pito Kura and Ahu Akahanga. To start the day, we will visit Ahu Akahanga, an archaeological site with remains of platforms where, according to oral tradition, the first king of the island was buried, who would have sought this place after leaving his settlement in Anakena. Next, we will visit the Rano Raraku volcano, where the largest amount of moai were carved. This place is also known as the quarry, or the "factory of the moai." You can see almost 400 statues in different stages of carving, with different characteristics and states of conservation. From here, we visit Ahu Tongariki, the most extensive platform and with the largest amount of restored moai in the whole island. One of the mandatory postcards of your trip to the navel of the world.

Once we have visited these sites, we will return to Hanga Roa to enjoy a delicious lunch in the family house of Mahinatur, where you will have the chance of learning about different local trees, flowers and typical vegetation of the island. To begin with the second part of the tour, we will move to Te Pito Kura, a rock with magnetic properties that would have been brought by the first king, also called "the navel of the world", where you will see the Paro moai, the largest that has ever been moved from the quarry.

Last but not least, you can visit one of the most important sites for the Rapa Nui culture, Hanga Rau o Te Ariki, where the Ahu Nau-Nau is located in front of the beautiful Anakena beach. The approach is archaeological, so our guide will invite you to learn about the history of the place. You can bring a swimsuit since you will have about 30 minutes to enjoy the sea in this paradisiacal bay of fine white sand, with crystal clear waters and pleasant temperature, where the Rapa Nui culture had its beginnings.
