The 'Tomb of the Unknown Soldier' on the wall bears the names of 13,300 Indian Army soldiers who died in World War I. It is an impressive 330 hectare structure built in 1929 by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker who are responsible for the construction of most of New Delhi.
