Overview
  • The land of lederhosen, pretzels and beer – and OKTOBERFEST! Come celebrate Oktoberfest in Munich as well as experience Bavarian culture, history, museums, Dachau concentration camp, Neuschwanstein Castle, bike tours and of course more beer!  Munich’s reputation for being Europe’s most fun city is well-deserved!

*Trip Style - This is an independent trip ideal for groups of friends, family, couples, or even for an independent-minded solo traveler. It is designed as a travel & destination package, not solely as a "group trip" (and this is not a trip where you want to be hampered down with a group as there are so many people in Munich for the Oktoberfest at this time).  If you book the "shared dorm hostel" package, and if you book the "private" room package then you of course will be in your own private room. There are no activities planned during this trip as it's all about Oktoberfest Friday & Saturday (and this is where you'll be able to meet countless people from around the world)!  You will receive a detailed info packet by email with numerous recommendations for any group activities or tours, sights/museums and food/drink/nightlife info, as well as detailed Oktoberfest info and recommendations.

**Opening weekend the Oktoberfest starts on Saturday (16th of September). On Friday of the opening weekend (starting, Friday the 15th) you'll have the option to do a walking tour of the city starting at 10am. This tour is a professionally guided 2.5-hour walking tour that will take you to many of Munich’s major landmarks and highlights. You will visit the Frauenkirche, see the world-famous Glockenspiel, go past the iconic Hofbräuhaus, and much more to tick off the main sights of the city's old town.  In addition to a city walking tour there are also other tour options, and even a bike tour.

Day 2 Saturday - Day 2

Breakfast provided and free day to enjoy Munich and the Oktoberfest (this is an all day, all night event for most!).

Non-Oktoberfest options for the day are a trip to the Dachau concentration camp & memorial, a bike tour to cruise around the city and learn its history (and make a stop at one of the world's largest beer gardens!), a visit to some of Munich’s many famous museums, or a trip to the Neuschwanstein Castle, the real life inspiration for the Disney castle.  You will be able to book these in advance.

Day 3 Sunday - Day 3

Breakfast included. Check out at 11am (leave your bags in luggage room if you depart later). Free day with departure on your own.

*If you have a later departure it's possible to do the Dachau trip or bike tour today as well, or simply go back to the Oktoberfest for a few final rounds of beer!
