Day 1 Delhi Local Sightseeing

Jama Masjid

Your driver will pick you up from your hotel or airport in the Morning and take you to meet your tour guide. You will head out to visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, with its courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees. It was begun in 1650 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, and more than 5,000 workers toiled for six years to complete it.

Humayun Tomb

The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562 CE and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian architect. It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent and is located in Nizamuddin East, close to the Dina-panah citadel that Humayun founded in 1533.

Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar After, visit Qutub Minar, a soaring 73 meter tower, and the tallest brick minaret in the world. It was built in 1193 by Qutub-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi’s last Hindu kingdom, and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Lotus Temple

Next up is the Lotus Temple (closed on Mondays), the last of seven major Bahai temples, and built-in 1986 out of pure white marble. Around the blooming petals are nine pools of water which light up in natural light.

India Gate

India Gate is the national monument of India. Situated in the heart of New Delhi, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It was built in 1931. Originally known as All India War Memorial, it is a prominent landmark in Delhi and commemorates the 90,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives while fighting for the British Indian Empire, or more correctly the British Raj in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.

Parliament House

One of the most captivating landmarks in the capital city of India, Parliament House, also known as the Sansad Bhavan is an epic spot to witness. In the year 1947, this building was the place where Britain handed over the powers to the newly independent India. Visitors are not allowed inside.
