Itinerary
Day 1 Riga

Upon arrival at Riga airport, you'll be met and transferred to our centrally located hotel in Latvia's capital. Spend the day at leisure and this evening join the welcome meeting in the hotel lobby, at around 7pm, with champagne-cocktail or juice.

Day 2 Riga Old Town

As the largest of the three Baltic capitals, Riga boasts a real kaleidoscope of architectural styles. Founded by the German bishop Albert in 1201, learn about its rich history on this 4-day city break. Today you'll enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town, including Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter's Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds, along with other fascinating parts of the city which uphold the city's richest history. The afternoon is free to explore this Baltic city independently or you can join the optional tour to the Riga Art Nouveau district and a visit to the Art Nouveau museum (book and pay locally). This evening there's an optional contemporary Latvian cuisine dinner at Restaurant Kalku Varti (book and pay locally).

Day 3 The Kalnciema Quarter

Today we visit the bright and lively Kalnciema Quarter, along the left bank of the Daugava River, in the picturesque area of Pardaugava. The Quarter hosts multiple events for families and children, art exhibitions, plays and more. it is famously known for its weekly markets where local farmers and artisans have been bringing their versatile produce. The renovated wooden buildings contain a Wooden Architecture Centre, wine shop and cafe, a restaurant, an art gallery and a design salon. We end our visit at the Agenskalns market. The rest of our morning sightseeing varies, dependent upon the date you are travelling: 2nd Nov 23, 16th Nov 23 and 15 Feb 24 departures: These weekends give you opportunity to explore more of Riga arts and crafts and contemporary fashion and design, visiting local craftsman stores in the Old Town and learn about amber and knitted fabric traditions. 16th Nov 23: Celebrate Latvia's independence day during this week-end. On Saturday, festive activities take place in the city including when locals and visitors of the city gather for celebrations. 28th Mar 24: This weekend we will celebrate Easter holiday holidays in Riga. The afternoon is free to explore Riga independently or join the optional guided visit to the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (MDAD) (book and pay locally). The museum has been open to the public since 6 July 1989, boasting collection of textile art, ceramic, metal, leather, decorative wood and glass art as well as a design collection. This evening there's the opportunity to attend an optional opera or ballet performance at the Latvian National Opera house, to bring your day to an end.

Day 4 Riga

Your cultural tour of Riga comes to end today with breakfast and check out. Transfer included to Riga airport.
