Day 1: Getting a feel for your snowmobile (daily distance 100 - 120 km)
We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel, the airport or train station in Rovaniemi. Preparations start immediately as we take you to the start point of the expedition, our Wild Nordic safari center. You will be provided with professional thermal snowmobiling outfits (trousers, jacket, woolen socks, boots, scarf, commando hat/balaclava and gloves), driving equipment and a snowmobiling box for your personal supplies needed during the tour. The box will be attached to your snowmobile as the rest of your luggage will be kept in Rovaniemi in luggage storage. Wild Nordic has the best riding gear for expeditions in Europe and we focus on safety heavily, providing detailed brefing of the track, weather conditions and driving instructions before departing to the wilderness. While you get used to your snowobile, you will enjoy a full day snowmobiling in the Arctic Circle back country. The guide will choose the way according to participants skills and experience and lunch will be provided on the way. In the afternoon, after riding from 100 to 120 kilometers, you will arrive to a cosy wilderness cabin located in the remote forest, where you can stretch the snowmobiling muscles in the sauna and enjoy a delicious home-style dinner (3 courses). Accommodation is always chosen to give the best opportunity to see the Northern lights and provide a good night sleep.
Day 2: Thrill of the speed (daily distance ~ 100 km)
After delicious breakfast, everyone is excited to put snowmobiling gear on and explore the fresh tracks as this day will be dedicated to a full day snowmobiling tour back to Rovaniemi through different tracks. Lunch will be provided on the way and there will be opportunities to stop for pictures to share to your loved ones. Arrival back to Rovaniemi will be in the afternoon and you will be awarded with the Great Adventure certificate by the guide, making it official that you have competed an Arctic Expedition. After that. you can enjoy changing into your winter clothing and a transfer will be provided to your hotel or alternatively the airport/train station.
