Day 1: Prionia – Old Monastery of Agios Dionisios – Holy Cave - MillsLitochoro
(Estimated Walking Time: approx. 5-6 hours)
Arrive and meet your guide in Litochoro at 09.00 pm in the main square next to Taxi station. Transfer to Prionia, from where we begin our hike, at an altitude of 1.100 metres. The route from Prionia to the Old monastery of Agios Dionisios it goes parallel to Enipeas steam which we pass through nice wooden bridges. On the way we ll explore the waterfall of enipeas with natural swimming pool (we can swim), and we ll enjoy the walk at the black pine tree forest. Later on we reached the monastery of Agios Dionysios, which was in World War II by a German troops blew up and destroyed. It lied hidden in the dense pine forest. After 2 hours of walk will arrive at the cave of Agios Dionisios, the place where the saint use to live as a hermitage.We finish at the Mills of Litochoro location just outside Litochoro, at 300m. The walk takes about 5.00’ to 6.00' hours and is classed as moderate (Optional we can start from Monastery of Saint Dionisos for less walking 1, 1/5 hour less walk) End of walk.
