Day 1: Ubud Arrival (-/-/D)
Arrive this afternoon at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar where you will be greeted by your Travel local guide. A private transfer takes you to the town of Ubud. Located in the island’s center, Ubud is the island’s artistic and cultural capital. Check in to your hotel and freshen before travelling to learn about the Hindu spiritual significance of the Pura Dalem Agung at Sacred Monkey Forest. This temple is located at the highest point in the forest and is still used for ceremonies. Your guide will also explain the architectural details of the Holy Bathing Temple and the Cremation temple. Wander the eclectic streets of Ubud before enjoying a traditional Rijstaffel dinner show casing the cuisine across the Indonesia archipelago. The Dutch coined the now local term which means ‘rice table’ and allowed them to sample each of their favorite Indonesian cuisines in a sitting. Overnight in Ubud. Day 2: Ubud - Telaga Waja River Rafting - Rice Field Trek - Ubud (B/L/D)
This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel between 07:45 – 08:15 and transferred to the foothills of Mount Agung in the islands interior. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the rafting guides who will give you a helmet, lifejacket and paddled. The guides will then provide a safety briefing and also explain and demonstrate paddling techniques. A ‘dry bag’ will be provided to protect your valuables and dry clothes. Then it’s time to start paddling! You will cover 14 kilometers on the Telaga Waja River over approximately 2 hours. The trip is divided into two parts with a rest stop on the riverbanks at the halfway point. There are several series of rapids (up to Class III) plus an exciting 3 meter drop during the route. Reaching the take out point, you will be treated to a buffet Indonesian lunch in a restaurant with stunning views of the river and surrounding hills. There are shower and toilet facilities available. Trekking in Ubud will start at the charming village of Tegalalang.It is the location of one of the most popular images of Bali, the terraced rice fields. Enjoy an essentially short trek about 1,5 – 2 hours that provides compelling insights into Ubud culture and nature. Taking a long deep breath of fresh air and see the morning local activities, farmers do their rice fields with many little birds chirping along. Continue drive back to the central of Ubud to visit the Royal Palace of Ubud, the beautiful architecture of Bali. No visit to Bali would be complete without witnessing traditional dance and this evening you will be treated to a performance in a nearby village. Take a late set menu dinner after the performance. Day 3: Ubud - Land Cruise - Ubud (B/L/-)
Around 08:30 this morning, you will be picked up at hotel in Ubud by the driver and Land Rover Defender. Head toward the center island, leaving the paved highways of the island and turning onto tiny country roads and tracks. The jeep will pass the Balinese villages, rice paddy field, and Mount Batukaru, where an unspoiled land which is often very muddy- adding an exhilarating stretch of driving to your adventure. Inland island forests will also be negotiated by the driver providing yet another varied landscape to enjoy. Throughout this Land Cruiser Bali day trip, there will be frequents stop in some areassuch as a traditional farmhouse, a hot mineral spring, tropical gardens filled with fragrant spices and ancient quarry where stones are still cut by traditional methods to build shrines and temples. Enjoy a coffee break before the short trekking through the rice fields. Drive further to the mountainous area and passing the famous Jatiluwih. At midday, a stop will be made at a restaurant surrounded by giant bamboo. Located in the middle of a tranquil rainforest, this is a relaxing setting for a traditional Balinese lunch. Cap off the meal with a locally-grown mountain coffee and a glass of beer or wine is also provided. Following lunch, visit Batukaru Temple before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Ubud. Day 4: Ubud - Mount Batur Sunrise - Departure (B/-/-)
You will be picked up from lobby hotel early in morning around 02:00 – 02:30. Depart to the starting point at the base of Mount Batur. Enjoy an unforgettable sunrise from the top of the sacred active volcano 1717m above sea level. Spectacular scenery and the vibration of the sacred earth filling your mind and soul as u served by tasty morning breakfast cooked by the steam of the active volcano. It’s an intermediate-level of hiking. The summit can be reached in about 2hrs from starting point at the slope of Mount Batur Volcano. The weather at the top is about 15o Celcius. On the way back from the trek we will visit a Coffee Plantation to see various tropical plantations and to see the traditional process of making Balinese coffee.
