During this special day you will experience the Lappish lifestyle from back in the day. Finnish and expecially Lappish people are forest people and we draw life energy from the nature. Everything during this day is private, starting from the transportation all the way to the cuisine and the land where we walk and where the wilderness cabin is located. Also our land is very active meaning you will have a good chance to spot some wild forest animals such as game birds, foxes, rabbits and elks. Day 1: Feel the authenticity and calmness of Lappish nature on a private land
We will pick you up from Sodankylä from your hotel/accommodation where our journey starts. We drive around 15 minutes to our private land. We park the car, put on the snowshoes if neede and start our light walking journey towards to wilderness cabin. We always walk according to your pace and depending on that the walk to the house takes around 30 to 45 minutes. When we arrive to the house we will start the fire inside the house and also inside the original Lappish hut we have set in front of the house. We will serve you an apero (hot berry juice) and set you nicely close to the fireplace. Inside the house and during the walk we will share you our family history since the land has always belonged to our family. We will also serve you a typical Lappish meal, some more warm drinks and you have a chance to enjoy all of these luxuries in self-knitted wool socks. After the lunch, nice talks and possible card games we will start walking back to the car and continue back towards Sodankylä and your accommodation. Note: This tour can also start from Luosto, Pyhä, Rovaniemi or Kittilä depending on your flight and accommodation. Alternative pick up location will increase the duration and cost of the day.
