Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Ushuaia

Upon arrival at Ushuaia airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to your hotel. Our representative will assist you with check-in procedures and provide you with a detailed itinerary, covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organization of your Argentina trip. You will also receive a contact information sheet with all the hotel details as well as our offices contact information and a 24-hour emergency number. Overnight: Ushuaia

Day 2: Ushuaia. Half Day Tierra del Fuego National Park Excursion

Tierra del Fuego National Park is located 12 km from Ushuaia. It is the only park in our country that has a sea coast. Its vegetation and waters frame the view of the Beagle Channel. In the first part of the tour we will border the Pipo River and cross a valley occupied by peat bogs (these are ecosystems that contain dead organic matter, derived from plants that have adapted to live in conditions of abundant water and scarce oxygen and nutrients). Then, we will go to Roca Lake where we will make an interpretation tour and have time for a coffee service (not included). Following the last stretch of the road, we will arrive at Lapataia Bay and at the end of National Route Nº3. From this point you will be able to access the coasts of the bay. This is an ideal place for bird watching in the region.

Day 3: Ushuaia

Day at leisure. OPTIONAL EXCURSION: HD: Hiking with Penguins (for an additional cost - please consult) You will depart from the tourist pier in the city of Ushuaia towards to Harberton Ranch since the Harberton pier is the closest to the Penguins´ rockery. From there you will cross the Beagle Channel in small semi-rigid boats suitable for this type of navigation. You will be heading towards the "Martillo Island" (15 minutes). You will land on the island with the guide and will spend almost an hour and a half walking along Papu and Magellanic penguins along established trails which also show the typical flora of this amazing place. As of 2009, Yécapasela has a colony of 3000 pairs of Magellanic penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus), 16 pairs of gentoo penguins (Pygoscelis papua) - the only rookery in continental Argentina- and 155 pairs of rock cormorants (Phalacrocorax magellanicus) nest on the cliffs to the south. This penguin colony, the only one reachable from Ushuaia, is growing gradually each year. Yécapasela is a great habitat for these penguins, as there are very few predators in the area, abundant food and the ground and vegetation provide adequate shelter for nests and chicks. The island was formerly home to the estancia's cattle and sheep, and since their removal in the 1960s the penguin numbers have soared. Sharing the islands with cormorants, the penguin colonies are flourishing in this safe environment. Penguins start to arrive on the island early in October to start their annual breeding season, raise their chicks and moult their feathers. Around late March and first days of April, penguins leave to begin their usual migration northward, and will feed at sea for more than 6 months, until the winter is over and spring calls them again to breed on land. Then, you will return to the Harberton Ranch to spend half an hour visiting its facilities. Includes Transfer Bilingual guide Schedule Every day from October to March (depending on the migratory behavior of the species). Duration: 6 hrs.
